Due to complex internal structure of a transformer
the propagation characteristics of the partial discharge ultra-high frequency(UHF) signal are very complicated.The authors analyze the impact of the oil-paper barriers to the PD UHF signal via a PD UHF experiment
and design three different test models of cavity discharge
surface discharge and corona discharge in oil.These models are put in an oil tank respectively for experiment.A small loop UHF antenna is designed for PD detection under the condition with or without oil-paper barrier.The detected PD UHF signal is analyzed in time domain and frequency domain
respectively.Analysis results show that oil-paper barrier has a certain influence on detected UHF signal in amplitude and power spectrum.
