A novel permanent magnet linear DC motor actuator with brake device for controlling high voltage circuit breaker is designed.The dynamic characteristics of its permanent magnet linear DC motor are analyzed
and a simulation model of the mo-tor is established by using the finite element method based on the mechanical property requirements of 40.5 kV VCB.The funda-mental dynamic characteristics of the permanent magnet linear DC motor and its starting performance are simulated to obtain the electromagnetic force
current
and speed curves.Therefore
the mechanical properties of the motor actuator are achieved.
