Experimental investigation of the electric characteristics of plasma aerodynamic actuation system is conducted.The inductance and capacitance of plasma aerodynamic actuation system are key factors which affect the electric characteristics plasma aerodynamic actuation system.When inductance of a power supply is decreased or a capacitance is connected in series to the power supply under a certain input voltage
the resonance frequency of plasma aerodynamic actuation system
input current of power supply and discharge current increase
while the discharge voltage of plasma aerodynamic actuator remains stable.With frequency ascending under a certain input voltage of power supply
there exist three typical discharge ways in the plasma aerodynamic actuation system: when frequency of power supply is less than the resonance frequency of the actuation system
there is a break in the discharge current waveform;when the frequency increases
the actuation system’s inductance and discharge current arise continually without a discharge current break;when the power supply frequency is higher than the resonance frequency of the actuation system
the capacitance filters higher-order voltage wave to reduce the discharge current.
