Base on the investigation of the operating insulators coated by PRTV and the comparison between DC flashover performances of ice-coated insulator strings with and without PRTV coating in artificial climate chamber

this paper analyzes the effect of PRTV coating on DC flashover of ice-coated insulator strings

and find that PRTV coating can not raise the DC flashover voltage of the ice-coated insulator strings

which means that taking PRTV as an anti-icing measure ought to be considered prudently.
