Abstract
This paper introduces the relevant knowledge regarding the infrared diagnosis for equipments in power system.It analyzes the basic method of infrared diagnosis.The overheat phenomena of the valve reactors in an HVDC transmission system
is analyzed
and the reasons why overheat occurs are found.Some typical spectrograms of the infrared diagnosis are provided as well.This study may offer some useful infrared diagnosis results for the following HVDC transmission systems.
