An improved bridge-type superconductor current limiter which can limit instantaneous and steady short current was presented
and the resistance-type
bridge-type and improved bridge-type superconductor current limiters were simulated.Scheme and parameters were proposed
based on which a 10 kV high-temperature superconductor current limiter was developed.A short testing of the limiter was conducted at Gaoxi 110 kV power station in Loudi bureau
Hunan Province
and later the limiter was used in the power grid.In the short testing
the limiter decreased the short current from 3 500 A(RMS) to 635 A(RMS) without wave saltation.The superconductor current limiter has run for six months and all indexes are well-balanced.All these can make a base for superconductor current limiter large-scale application.
