This paper analyzes the strength of the polymeric metal oxide arrester extensively used in electric power system

and puts forward a formula for quantitative analysis adopting PMOA top angle θ and deflection f to measure the deformation.The calculation results show that within a certain load range

shortening the length of PMOA obviously reduces its deformation due to external load and hence enhances its strength.
