flat-surface HGI assemblies was investigated by simulating the orbits of electron near the HGI surface based on finite-element software.Numerical calculation of electron orbits has shown that: ①the periodic electric field in HGI assemblies can restrain the development of electron multiplication.Better performance could be attained while L=0.2 mm and I/M=5;②the+45-degree structure shows a better performance than the standard flat-surface HGI;③ there are some limitations in the software which can not reflect the physics of vacuum surface breakdown veraciously.
