simply presents the composition of the pulse source and its basic principle

and discusses the designs including the adjustable high voltage DC source

the gas spark gap and its trigger circuit

as well as the pulse resistance divider. Simulation results show that response time and the rising time of the resistance divider are both reduced more than 3 ns. The experiment result indicates that this divider can meet the requirement of rising time more than 1 ns. The double exponent wave produced by this pulse source fulfils the design

with its peak voltage higher than 26 kV

rising time less than 2.8 ns

and dropping time about 55 ns.
