In order to improve the arc medium recovery speed of circuit breaker
a novel chamber structure with rotary-gas grooves in nozzle was presented for 500 kV SF6 circuit breaker with one-break.By using this structure the traditional axial blowing arc was improved to rotated blowing arc.It was simulated that the gas flow characteristics in arc-quenching for both structure of unrotary-gas grooves and of in the process.It can be derived from simulation results that rotary-gas grooves on upriver nozzle have changed axial blowing gas into rotary blowing gas.The high speed blowing gas with rotary-gas grooves is more concentrative than without rotary-gas grooves
