A three dimensional(3D) thermoelectricity coupled finite element model to analyze the transient thermal behavior of the high voltage current limiting fuse is established by using ANSYS program.In this model
the simplification of fuse’s structure and some reasonable suppositions are presented to simplify the calculation.In order to obtain the exact transient temperature distribution of the fuse
the temperature dependent on material properties and heat transfer coefficients are taken into account.The variety process of the temperature distribution in the case of normal working and fault are obtained through the analysis.Finally
the effect of structure parameter to the thermal characteristics of the fuse is studied
and the result provides a theoretical basis for the design and engineering analysis.
