Because the ECT/EVT has become one of the most important parts of automation system in substation
a scheme using embedded processor on FPGA was proposed to implement merging unit.The MicroBlaze provided by Xilinx was adopted as embedded processor
and the functional modules were implemented using intellectual property core to satisfy the functions of merging unit synchronization
multi-channels acquisition
and Ethernet communication.This method can fulfill the requirements of high-speed
real-time and reliability for electronic transducer.Test results show that this scheme basically satisfy the requirements of IEC 60044 and IEC 61850 for merging unit.
