Numerical simulation is an effective method to study the arc plasma in DC electric arc furnace
which can be used to provide a reference for understanding and optimizing the production process of DC electric arc furnace. In the paper
a two-dimensional axisymmetric steady magnetohydrodynamic model has been developed for the arc plasma in DC electric arc furnace. Based on the proposed model
the commercial software PHOENICS is applied to calculate the flow and temperature field of plasma. The calculated results show that it agrees well with the experimental measurements reported in other article.
