Abstract
In order to resolve the mal-operation problem in differential protection caused by magnetizing inrush
this paper analyzes the characteristic of magnetizing inrush
points out the shortcoming in the principle of the differential protection for anti-malfunction
puts forward a method for distinguishing magnetizing inrush based on the magnetic flux characteristics principle. The results of analysis demonstrate that the method is able to identify the internal fault reliably.
