It is studied that how to use wavelet analysis to purify and de-noise signals in acoustic emission detection of discharges
including how to choose the wavelet and the level of wavelet decomposition
how to identify the wavelet coefficient of useful frequency band
how to choose the de-noising threshold and how to de-noise the purified acoustic emission wave of discharges. Two examples show the advantage of purifying and de-noising signals using wavelet analysis in acoustic emission detection of discharges.
