Abstract
Thyristor switching capacitor (TSC) is a new application in the field of static var compensation (SVC)technology. Based on the engineering design experience
the characteristics of various main circuits for TSC reactive power compensation device are analysed. Some key solutions for developing TSC device are introduced
such as the criterion of switching capacitor
the signal detection method
the control of voltage-zero switching-on and the design of triggering circuit for thyristors.
