According to the common types of partial discharge
a method on PD pattern recognition for XLPE power cable based on BPNN is introduced in this paper
which uses discharge times and statistics operators of3D chart of PD signal as inputs of BPNN.The method is applied to five typical XLPE PD patterns in the laboratory.The recognition result demonstrates that it is feasible and has considerable value for practical application.
