Abstract
With the distributed feeder automation system which is configured by new type of distribution automation switchgear having the function of measurement and remote communication
a new method of locating and isolating single phase grounding fault sections is proposed in this article . The method locates single phase grounding fault sections by monitoring each phase current and phase voltage of the switchgear on the feeder with reference to the zero sequence energy of each section. The method is applicable in non effective earthing system and is not influenced by transient process. Matlab simulations demonstrate that the proposed method is correct with practical value.
