This pa pe r presents the effective shielding design for magnetic fields generated by unidi rectional current based on the analysis of the shielding effectiveness of severa l kinds of current sources.Theoretical formulas and numerical computation softwa re based on the boundary element method are employed to find the effective shiel ding solution.It is shown that ungrounded cylindrical metallic tube has no shiel ding effectiveness for unidirectional current.Effective shielding can be reached by connecting the two ends of the tube with low impedance connector
or alternat ively
grounding the two ends.Experiments are also carried out
