A synthetic fault dia gnosis method based on RS theory for electric power transformer fault character and fault location is proposed.Both the DGA analysis results and some other typi cal factors such as electrical test results are fully considered.The training st ylebook of ANN is compressed and the redundancy information is deleted by using decision table reduction technique of RS
thus the training speed and the accurac y of diagnosis are effectively improved.
