Abstract
The current distribution between parallel ZnO varistor columns of energy absorber in HVDCCB is discussed in this paper. The inequable current dis-tribution will increase in direct ratio with the number of the parallel ZnO varistor columns and in inverse ration with the number of series ZnO varistors. Calculation results show that the reasonable selection of the ZnO varistor in each column will reduce the inequable current distribution between parallel varistor columns to a lower level.
