Abstract

The effective ionization coefficient

electron drift velocity

and dif-fusion coefficient were measured in SF6-CO2 gas mixtures using the pulsed Townsend method. The effect of the FWHM of the laser pulse on the current mea-surement was analyzed

and a method for correcting the measured current wave form was proposed. The limiting E/p values of SF6-CO2gas mixtures obtained by using the proposed method are in good agreement with those reported by other in-vestigators.
