Abstract
The results of experiments and calculations in the present paper show that the applications of the figure-of-merit(M)of gaseous dielectric not only make it convenient to calculate E0/P of gases or gas mixtures in the presence of electrode surface roughness
but also make it possible to predict the insulation strength of non-uniform electric field formed by smooth and clean electrodes.
