The partial discharge(PD)detection was performed to a 220 kV GIS by the UHF sensing method and the ultrasonic sensing method.A partial discharge was found and located in the arrester chamber.Based on the analysis of the PD signal pattern
a PD of floating part was determined.The detection and diagnosis results were confirmed by the afterward maintance
which provided a valuable sample for the GIS PD on-line detection.
