Research on Plate Electrode Aging Experiment for Vacuum On-load Tap-changers
For studying the influence of aging on electrode surface and arcing process
the aging experiments of plane electrode for vacuum on-load tap-changer are carried out in a demountable vacuum interrupter. The arcing image is taken by a high-speed camera
and the voltage and current waveforms are acquired by oscilloscope. The motion condition of cathode spot and arc voltage waveform under different aging are compared and analyzed. Experiment result show that with the conduction of aging
the contaminant on the electrode surface is removed gradually under the cleaning effect of cathode spots. The cathode spots are more stable in movement
the arc voltage is decreased and its fluctuation is reduced.
