QUESTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR USING 750kV GIL AT LAXIWA HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION
The GIL is a transmission equipment for the transmission of high voltage and heavy current over long distance.Based on about30years of operation experience
GIL has main advantages
such as low resistive loss
high reliability
large power transmission capacity
low maintenance cost
long life in service(about50years)and no effect on the surroundings
etc..Laxiwa is a hydroelectric power station with special conditions of large generating power capacity
high transmission voltage
complicated landform
high altitude
unable to use overhead line for750kV outgoing line
and so on.This paper describes the rationality for using GIL on the plant
and puts forward the questions that need to be considered on next design stage.
