Analysis of the Models for Calculating Lightning Invading Over-voltage in 750kV AIS Substation
To understand the accuracy of diffe rent models for calculating lightning invading over-voltage in transformer substation
the effects of different transmission line models and electric-arc resistance due to flash over of insulator-string on the over-voltage on equipments and MOA load in a 750 kV AIS substation are studied. The results show that the maximum over-voltage on equipments is 22.2%lower when the transmission lines are simulated with LCC(Line/Cable Constants) model than with single phase wave impedance model
while the maximum energy absorbed by MOA is 24.0%higher.Although the calculation results from three arrester models are approximate each other
the lumped model is recommended considering its convenience and accuracy. The effect of electric-arc resistance on the over-voltage on equipments can not be ignored.
