Development of Nanosecond Liquid Switch Used in Fast Rise Time High Voltage Pulse Source
A new three electrode nanosecond liquid switch with triggering electrode is designed. The switch operates with immobility anode
cathode and a removable trigger electrode. The switch gap is filled with innocuous
fully biodegradable
and well insulating refined rap oil.The trigger’s controlling system outside the high voltage switch includes electromagnet
receiving antenna circuitry
and remote control.Receiving antenna circuitry receives signal from remote control to make switch discharge. The switch is designed to operate up to 40 kV.The experimental results indicate that the switch operates with reliable performance;integrated with the EMP generator
the switch can produce double-exponential electromagnetic field with rise time less than 2 ns
half pulse width around 25 ns and amplitude of 50 kV/m.
