The 550 kV high-voltage disconnector produces heat in operation because of its resistance to make its temperature rising
which affects its working performance.Especially
the contact resistance of the disconnector will reduces its thermal stability
and even causes adhesion accident. In this paper
a 3-D finite element analysis model of the disconnector is established. The loss of energy and current distribution are calculated with the model.According to transient thermal analysis
the thermal stability of the disconnector at 65 kA/3 s is discussed
and the influences of the contact resistance
the contact area
and the current on temperature rise of the contact points are investigated. This study may provide a reference for product test and design of the disconnector.
