Slot Discharge Fingerprint Distribution of 10 kV Asynchronous Motor Stator Windings in the Case of Insulation Degradation
In the manufacturing process of a 10 kV asynchronous motor
a semi-conductive layer with certain resistance is often adopted to cover the linear part of coil to suppress the partial discharge in the slot. However
due to the electromagnetic force which exists when the motor is running
slot discharge is still one of the main causes of stator insulation fault. In this paper
a width adjustable slot model with a monolayer coil is designed to investigate the distribution patterns of slot discharge fingerprint for a class F10 kV asynchronous motor’s stator winding insulation with varying aging degrees. The variation law of slot discharge fingerprint with voltage is obtained by extracting the characteristic quantity of discharge at different aging degrees of stator winding. This study may provide a reference for online monitoring and life assessment of 10 kV motor insulation.
