Effects of Contaminations on Voltage Distribution Along Insulator String
Natural pollution distribution on the surface of insulator string is uneven
which will affect the voltage distribution along insulator string. In this paper
three-dimensional models of contaminated insulator strings are established in ANSYS software according to the finite element method. The results show that the voltage distribution along insulator strings with wet pollution is more uniform than clean insulator string
the potential distribution along the insulator strings with uneven circumferential pollution distribution is inconsistent
and the maximum voltage location of insulator string of which both ends have heavier pollution is the middle of the insulator string
whilst in the case of uniformly contaminated and dry pollution
different types of pollution has few effect on the voltage distribution.
