Development of High Energy Density(2.7 MJ/m3) Pulse Capacitor
In order to develop high energy density(HED) capacitor
the key technologies affecting the properties of capacitors were studied. A self-healing platform was constructed to conduct self-healing tests
and it was found that raising capacitor interlayer pressure could reduce the self-healing energy
thus improve the lifetime of capacitor. Based on the research on self-healing inside the film and on the edge of film
the number of segmented modules of the high energy density capacitor was determined according to the working field strength of the capacitor. Appropriate type of impregnant and impregnation processes were chosen to improve the operation reliability of capacitors under high field strength. Consequently
the pulse capacitor of high energy density(2.7 MJ/m
3
) was developed
whose lifetime reaches 850 times under the voltage of 6.6 k V and discharging current of 11.85 k A.
