Discussion of the Grounding Method of Gas Insulated Transmission Line
Gas insulated transmission line(GIL)has got a great development in recent years due to its advantages. In order to guarantee the safety of GIL
its enclosure grounding needs to be designed and arranged reasonably. In this paper
two grounding methods and their characteristic are introduced. An isolated phase GIL equivalent calculating model based on MATLAB Simulink is established and with the parameters of an 800 kV/4 000 A GIL the simulation was conducted. The steady enclosure potential distribution is calculated and the influence of binding bar number and position and grounding distance on enclosure potential and grounding current are studied. The results show that the enclosure potential has a "V"type distribution; binding bar added at the end of the GIL has positively important influence on reducing enclosure potential and grounding current; decreasing grounding distance will reduce the potential and grounding current
but has a trend to be saturation by increasing the number of grounding point. In result
the binding bar must be arranged at the end of GIL and the grounding points and the other binding bars should be arranged according to the calculation based on the simulation model.
