Research on Protection of UHV GIS Substation Against Lightning Intruding Over-voltage
For a comprehensive study on the effects of lightning arrester configuration on the economy and reliability of protecting UHV GIS substation against lightning intruding wave. Considering lightning point
lightning type
ground obliquity and other factors
by establishing integrated simulation model of a 1 000 kV GIS substation incoming line and substation
the lightning incoming overvoltage under different operation modes and arrester configuration types has been calculated and studied by using international general transients program ATP-EMTP.The result shows that when the high resistance in incoming line side and transformer share a set of arresters and installing a set of arresters on the main transformer
the requirements for device insulation margin can be met but the protection margin is low
which can be solved by optimizing incoming line in order to further improve protection margin; due to complex catadioptric problem of overvoltage wave caused by non-equivalence of overhead line and GIS wave impedance
the lightning overvoltage at main transformer is higher than high voltage bushing;under the same condition
compared with counterattack
the probability of shielding failure and the magnitude of the overvoltage on main transformer are higher; shielding failure on upper phase wire is more dangerous. Therefore
it is recommended that subsequent research pays attention to shielding failure protection. The research result in this paper can provide an important basis for arrester configuration in this substation
which has guiding significance for lightning overvoltage protection of establishing subsequent UHV AC substations.
