Electromagnetic Environment Analysis on ±800 kV/±500 kV Double-circuit DC Transmission Lines
For understanding the electromagnetic environment of the ±800 kV/±500 kV double-circuit DC transmission lines on the same tower
analytic method as well as CISPR and BPA empirical formulas are employed to calculate the electromagnetic environment indexes of two basic tower types with respective conductor arrangement
including surface field gradient of conductor and ground wire
distributions of total electric field and ion current density at ground
audible noise and radio interference strength
minimum distance to ground
and line corridor width. The effects of such factors as conductor arrangements
line height and conductor spacing on electromagnetic environment are analyzed
and the results are compared with those of ±800 kV single-circuit transmission line and ±500 kV double-circuit transmission line. It is concluded that the ±800 kV/±500 kV double-circuit transmission lines can meet the requirements for electromagnetic environment if proper tower type and conductor configuration are selected
and changing some parameters of the lines can effectively improve the electromagnetic environment.
