Study on Icing Accidents and Anti-icing Measures for EHV AC Transmission Lines
The faults and defects caused by icing accidents for 500(330)

50 kV AC transmission lines in 27 provincial power grid in China from 2010 to 2014 are figured statistically and analyzed in the paper. The results show that the faults and defects caused by icing accidents focus primarily on 500 kV AC transmission lines. Design and operation
&
maintenance have great influences on the generation of ice accident faults and defects
and the line galloping is the primary cause of ice accident faults. The overhead power line fittings are easy to generate ice accident defects. The transmission lines which have suffered ice accident faults are focus on the lines which put into operation less than 10 years. Ice accident faults most likely occur in Henan pr

maintenance of EHV AC transmission lines are also proposed in the paper.
