Control Strategy for Grid Tied and Islanding Mode of Four Leg Converters
For the problem caused by the unbalanced load in microgrid working in islanding mode
a three phase four-leg topology is adopted as a double mode converter to operate in both of grid-tied and islanding mode and the voltage unbalance issue is mitigated in islanding mode. In grid-tied mode
the inductor current is controlled based on grid voltage orientation and the unsymmetrical output voltage is controlled in positive and negative synchronous frames in islanding mode based on the mathematical model. Especially
the zero sequence voltage is suppressed by resonant regulator. The two modes can work independently through smooth transition. Finally
the double mode strategy is verified by simulation. The simulation results show that the control method can track the power command accurately in grid-tied mode
and suppress the disturbances and output symmetrical voltage under unbalanced loads. In modes transition
the method can reduce the transient voltage and inrush current
and achieve the reliable and uninterrupted power supply for loads.
