Impulse Damages Analysis of the Decoupling Component Between Multi-level SPD
In order to reasearch the problem of the energy cooperation failure in multi-level surge protective device(SPD)
based on transmission line theory & Kirchhoff law & the request of IEC 61643
then through impulse test
it would find that the damage to decoupling component is more severe than main lighting protection component when SPD fails in energy cooperation. Results show that decoupling component’s electrical specification may be changed with repeated 8/20 μs impulse current. In the same winding case
the greater wire diameter
the stronger stability of the inductance. In the same temperature
the stronger resistance has better stability. And coating resistance is more reliable than winding resistance. It comes to the conclusions that decoupling component should be verified first
then analyzing the impulse data of SPD.The conclusions will be meaningful to the parameter setting of SPDs.
