On-line Condition Monitoring of Operating Mechanism for SF6 High Voltage Circuit Breakers Based on Vibration Signals
Vibration signals generated during operation of an SF
6
high voltage circuit breaker(HVCB)are caused by a series of events resulted from the movement and impact of its internal components. Such signals consist of abundant information in both the time domain and the frequency domain. In order to realize real-time condition monitoring of HVCB operating mechanism
the vibration signals corresponding to different parts of the operating mechanism need to be analyzed for obtaining the signals’ characteristics that can reflect HVCB condit
ion for state evaluation of the operating mechanism. In this paper
spring fatigue and buffer failure of HVCB are investigated. First
a large number of simulation experiments are carried out for the operating mechanism with the two kinds of faults or in normal working condition
hence the corresponding mechanical vibration signals are acquired and necessary noise reduction is performed by morphological filtering. Then
the signals are analyzed and compared in both the time domain and the frequency domain
and the energy distribution on each frequency band is obtained by the method of relative wavelet packet energy. Finally
support vector machine is employed to train the frequency band energy and predict the mechanical condition of HVCB. The results show that the proposed method has high state recognition accuracy
and can meet the requirement for on-line condition monitoring of HVCB operating mechanism.
