Voltage and Electric Field Distribution Along Long Rod Type Ceramic Insulator Strings in 500 kV AC Transmission Line
The voltage and electric field distribution of long rod type ceramic insulator helps to guide the existing operational strategy. The simulative calculation of long rod type ceramic insulator string in 500 kV transmission line is carried out through finite element method in three-dimensional model
and in comparison with disk ceramic insulator string. The result shows that the voltage distribution of long rod type ceramic insulator string presents a decline curve of three parts
and the electric potential of two ends declines faster than the middle. The electric field strength distribution of long rod type ceramic insulator string presents a U-shaped curve and the maximum field strength lies on the first rod core areas of umbrella skirt root of the high voltage end.Compared with disk ceramic insulator string
long rod type ceramic insulator has less fittings
its voltage and electric field distribution is more uneven.
