Research of GIS Bus Loose Contact Fault Diagnosis Techniques Based on Mechanical Vibration
GIS bus contact terminals will produce mechanical vibrations if they have loose defects
based on this
a GIS vibration detector using vibration acceleration sensor is developed
a mechanical vibration diagnostic platform of GIS is established in laboratory.By simulating the mechanical defects of GIS bus contact terminals
measurements are carried out when the bus has a loose contact as well as no defects. The results indicate that obvious vibration signals can be detected in GIS shell near disc insulator whether there is a defect on GIS bus contact terminal or not.The vibration signals have outstanding amplitudes at the frequency of 1 400 Hz and 100 Hz and the ratio of two amplitudes is near 1.When the GIS bus contact terminal has a loose contact
the detected vibration signals from GIS shell will display the different characteristics at different directions. The ratio of amplitudes at 1 400 Hz and 100 Hz can be the characteristic quantity of loose defect. While the ratio is larger than 2 or smaller than 0.5
it can be preliminarily inferred that the loose defect exists.
