Seismic Responses and Seismic Resistance Measure of ±800 k V Direct Current Bypass Switch
have experienced severe damage inthe past earthquakes. In order to study the seismic performance of the bypass switch
a finite element model
whichis based on a ±800 k V direct current bypass switch
is established. The seismic analysis shows that the bypass switchcould not satisfy the seismic request after combination with other corresponding loads. Then
an seismic resistancebearing system combining wire rope and viscous dampers is installed at the bottom of the bypass switch to decreaseits responses. The hysteretic curve of the wire rope is simulated by a modified Bouc-Wen model
then the seismic re-sponses of the bypass switch with and without seismic resistance are analyzed. The results show that with the seismicresistance bearing system
the stress at the bottom of the insulator is greatly decreased and the safety factor is largerthan the requirement. The seismic resistance bearing here can effectively improve the seismic performance of the by-pass switch.
