Study on the Detection Sensitivity of High-frequency Current Method to Capacitor Partial Discharge
Traditional partial discharge detection methods for capacitor have certain limitation because of the limitation of capacitance and the electromagnetic interference. In this study
a new type of high-frequency current measurement method for partial discharge detection with a variety of anti-interference means was developed according to the characteristics and requirements for capacitor partial discharge detection. The detection sensitivity of the present method to partial discharge and the effect degree of capacitance were investigated by means of standard pulse generator injection
and the apparent discharge quantity correction was explored by comparing the present method with conventional pulse current method. Comparison with ultrasound test in the field showed that the present method has strong anti-interference capability and higher detection sensitivity
and can better reflect real level of partial discharge in the factory test of capacitor without the influence of capacitance. Therefore
this method is more suitable for factory test of partial discharge for capacitors.
