Suppression of Secondary Arc for UHV Half-wavelength Transmission Lines
For suppressing secondary arc in half-wavelength AC transmission(HWACT)
a mathematical model of secondary arc based on distribution parameters is established by the sectioning method to analyze the suppression effect of high-speed grounding switch(HSGS) on the secondary arc current. And a transient electromagnetic model of HWACT line is built to analyze the influence of the limiting factor of HSGS on the suppression effect. In addition
an optimized scheme of HSGS arrangement is proposed to restrain the secondary arc on HWACT line. The results show that the HSGS reacting time has a little effect on the suppression of the secondary arc current
so the time should be set for 150 ms in order to retain enough time margin. The grounding resistance of HSGS imposes significant influence on the secondary arc current
so its value should be less than 1.5 Ω. HWACT line taking non-uniformly arranged 9 sets of HSGSS configuration can effectively restrain its secondary arc current
