Superconducting Fault Current Limiter Driven by Fault Current
the short-circuit current level of the power system is in-creasing
causing increasingly serious thermal shock and mechanical shock to the power equipment in the system. Inorder to limit the short-circuit current
this paper proposes a superconducting fault current limiter
which is com-posed of parallel superconducting tapes reactance
vacuum circuit breaker
electromagnetic repulsion mechanismparts. This paper studies the quench resistance characteristics
and superconducting tapes and parallel shunt imped-ance characteristics
simulation mode analysis of the motion characteristics of the electromagnetic repulsion mecha-nism. On this basis
the working principle of the current driving type superconducting fault current limiter is present-ed. Through the research
we can see that the tapes have set detection
a trigger and the limiting characteristics ofshunt impedance can well play a diversion and protection strip;current drive type superconducting fault current lim-iter can achieve a wide range of limiting effect and satisfy the system requirements of reclosing. Finally
126kV tothe current driving type superconducting fault current limiter as an example
the AC loss is calculated. When the cur-rent in the superconducting tape is 75% of the critical current
