Development of SOS-type High-voltage Repetitive Nanosecond Pulse Power Supply for Excitation of Solid Insulation Defect
To detect the partial discharge of solid insulating material
a repetitive nanosecond high-voltage pulse power supply based on semiconductor opening switch(SOS)is developed
which is used as the exciting source to gen-erate partial discharge of solid insulation defect under high frequency. The nanosecond pulse power supply consistsof three parts
i.e. a primary resonant charging unit
a magnetic pulse compression unit
and an SOS. The design ofeach part is introduced
and the debug waveform is given. Debugging results meet design requirements
and a pulsevoltage waveform on a 620 Ω resistive load is generated with an amplitude of 30 kV
a leading edge of 30 ns and afull width at half maximum of 110 ns. The nanosecond pulse power supply continuously operates at a repetition rateof 1 kHz
and its intermittent work repetition frequency is up to 10 kHz. A partial discharge detection platform is setup for the nanosecond pulse power supply to be applied to partial discharge detection on test sample
and satisfactory repetitive discharge of the test sample at a repetitive frequency is achieved.
