Vibration and Audible Noise of Iron-core Reactor in Substation: A Review
This paper reviews the researches on vibration and audible noise of iron-core reactor in recent years. Considering core materials and structural characteristics of the reactor
it is concluded that the magnetostrictive effect
the electromagnetic attraction between core cakes
and the ampere-force effect of winding are the main factors causing the vibration of the reactor. Through analyzing the displacement and acceleration of the iron-core vibration and measuring the sound level and spectrum distribution of the reactor noise in super-or extra-high voltage substation
the main factors affecting the vibration and noise of the reactor can be found
including the level of excitation source
the material and its production level
and the operating environment. Through the development of high-efficiency vibration isolators and high-performance sound insulation devices
vibration transmission and noise propagation of reactors can be effectively attenuated. Improvements of the main materials and structures of the reactor can also reduce its audible noise to a certain extent.
