Experimental Study on the Influence of Packet Temperature on Filter Capacitor’s Audible Noise
Filter capacitor’s audible noise is related to the excitation of electric force and its mechanical characteristics. Numerous harmonic currents flow through a filter capacitor in service
resulting in the increase of its packet temperature and affecting its excitation and mechanical characteristics. To understand the influence of capacitor packet temperature on filter capacitor’s audible noise
the sound power levels of the capacitor’s audible noise at different temperatures were measured and analyzed. It was found that: 1)the variation of the capacitor’s core temperature affected its noise radiation;2)the rise in the core temperature of the capacitor resulted in a tendency to increase the sound power level
particularly in the range of 10~40 ℃ temperature;3)when the core temperature continuously rose
the sound power levels of the capacitor noise got more dispersive;and 4)the effect of temperature on high frequency noise is greater than that on low frequency noise. Moreover
The reason why the measurement data of the capacitor noise became dispersive in the process of temperature change is analyzed.
