Mechanical Condition Monitoring of On-load Tap Changer Based on Recurrence Quantification Analysis
To further improve the accuracy of mechanical condition monitoring of on-load tap changer(OLTC)
the recurrence quantification analysis(RQA)is presented to analyze the vibration signals during its switch-over process.Firstly
the phase space reconstruction technique and the recursion theory are adopted to obtain the recurrence plot of the vibration signals. Then
the recurrence rate
laminarity
determinism and their statistical distribution results are introduced to describe the dynamic characteristics of the vibration signals. Analysis results of a CM-type OLTC under normal and typical fault conditions show that the OLTC vibration signals vary with the features of periodicity weakening
predictability strengthening and stationarity improving during the transition process of the OLTC from normal condition to fault condition. The distribution range of the defined RQA index can be used to evaluate the operation condition of the OLTC with high accuracy. This research may provide reference for condition monitoring technology of OLTC based on the vibration analysis method.
