500 kV HVDC Circuit-breakers is one of the key equipment of Zhangbei（±500 kV） Flexible DC Power Grid of Renewable Energy Demonstration Project.The reliability of its technical performance is the necessary guarantee for the safe and stable operation of Zhangbei Flexible DC Power System Demonstration Project.The operation condition of HVDC circuit breaker is complex

and its performance can not be effectively assessed only by simulation and calculation.Therefore

capacity test is the only effective method to evaluate the current withstand ability

short circuit breaking and making ability

rated current and small current switching ability of HVDC circuit breakers.This paper introduces the capacity test technology

test parameter requirements

and the design and implementation of test circuit of 500 kV high-voltage DC circuit breaker used in Zhangbei flexible DC project.At the same time

it also provides reference and basis for understanding

implementing and studying the capacity test of HVDC circuit breaker.
